Radio
You wouldn't think that radio could have a destructive side, but it does. For
instance, the execrable Howard Stern was introduced to Canada by two of
the country's large, mainstream broadcast conglomerates. He stayed
on the air for several years, spewing vitriol and misogynist, revolting
garbage into southern Ontario -- and during the early morning hours when
the kids could listen.
Stern was eventually given the boot
from mainstream radio, but he came back to Canada on satellite in February
2006. The consortium that brought him back includes our publicly
funded broadcaster, the CBC!
